Art of Jiu-Jitsu

What is Jiu-Jitsu?

Jiu-Jitsu is the oldest of the Japanese martial arts. It combines elements of karate, judo and aikido and has evolved into the most complete, modern form of self-defense. It incorporates punching, kicking, blocking, joint locks, throwing techniques, grappling and neck restraints. Even though designed primarily for self-defense, sparring and grappling are included in Jiu-Jitsu for competition for those who wish to do so.

The Canadian Jiu-Jitsu team, which includes instructors at this club, has won medals in six World Championships. The team is also in the Guinness Book of World Records for its accomplishments.
