Chief Instructor
Terry Yanke Shihan is the Owner and Chief Instructor of the K-W Jiu-Jitsu Club.
He is a former Waterloo Regional Police Officer and was an Emergency Response Team Leader. He combines martial arts with techniques he used when he was a police officer to create a very effective self-defense system. He teaches classes in local schools and businesses and is a trainer for women’s self defense programs.
Some of his Accomplishments include:
- 8th degree Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu
- 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo
- Listed in the Black Belt Hall of Fame
- Listed in the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Hall of Fame
- World Competitor
- Competed in 4 World Championships
- Qualified International Referee
- Co-creator of Ty-Jitsu, a cardio martial arts program
- Coach for the Canadian Jiu-Jitsu Team
